Dr Judith McLeod joined the University in 2021, as an Associate Professor and is the Professional Lead for Nursing within the School of Health and Sports Sciences. After qualifying as a Registered General Nurse, Judith joined the Royal Air Force, where she completed 27 years of service, undertaking a wide variety of roles during this time. Having initially specialised in emergency care, Judith worked within this area of nursing for many years, before moving into a variety of research roles, including Trauma Nurse Co-ordinator and Aeromedical Evacuation Research Officer, during which time she completed her PhD. Her last appointment prior to leaving the Royal Air Force was as Senior Research Fellow within the Academic Department of Military Nursing.

Dr Judith McLeod
Associate Professor and Professional Lead for Nursing
After leaving the Royal Air Force, Judith worked as a Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, teaching and supervising into both the BSc (Hons) and MSc pre-registration nursing programmes.
Judith teaches into several nursing programmes at the University of Suffolk and is interested in acute nursing care, transfer care, student experience and healthcare ethics.

Current projects:
Working through the pandemic: an exploration of nursing students’ experiences of studying and working through the COVID-19 pandemic. A collaboration with colleagues from the University of the West of Scotland.
