Jayne Double

Teacher Training Curriculum Coordinator, Suffolk New college

Jayne holds an MA in Educational Studies, BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, Certificate in Education, V1 Internal Quality Assurance Award, A1 Assessors Award and is a Mental Health First Aider.

Jayne began her career in travel and tourism becoming a trainer and sales development manager for Thomson Holidays. She later diversified and trained to become an early years practitioner eventually running her own nursery school. Jayne continued her training experience with the Early Years Child Care training unit for Suffolk County Council specialising in safeguarding, behaviour management, equality and diversity and child development. Jayne then trained to be a teacher specialising in child care and education before moving onto higher education and lecturing on the initial teacher training programme in 2015. This exceptional variety of experiences has given Jayne a wide range of knowledge and skills to impart to others in their teaching and training journey.

As Course Leader of Initial Teacher Education at the University of Suffolk at Suffolk New College, Jayne strives to instil passion about teaching in others and to provide the trainee teachers with a range of different concepts to enhance their own pedagogical practice and reflective skills. Jayne specialises in learning theories, behaviour management, teaching, learning and assessment and mental health and well-being.
