I started my career as a respiratory nurse though thrived for more and moved on to the Emergency Department to broaden my skills and knowledge. I was employed by West Suffolk Hospital for some considerable time where I also completed my acute and critical care with accident and emergency speciality degree. This enabled me to register as a specialist practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
I have since moved on to Addenbrooks's Emergency Department where I started as a band 6 junior charge nurse though was swiftly invited to apply to become the practice development nurse for the department of which i was successful. Many doors have opened since leaving University including returning to assist with lecturing on the acute and critical care course from an Emergency Department nurse perspective.
