James trained and worked as an Engineer from 1994 – 2001 and studied in the field of Engineering and Technology Management through to degree level. The majority of his employment, at this time, was spent at Manganese Bronze in Ipswich where he held the roles of Toolmaker and Research and Development Engineer.
In 2002, the opportunity arose to become a director and shareholder of a small engineering company, in which James continues to work. 2014 saw his appointment as Managing Director to oversee all aspects of the company, and to create and implement a growth strategy moving forward.
James is currently studying on the University of Suffolk MBA Programme, having gained a wealth of experience in small to medium size business, has developed an interest in business consultancy. The MBA has provided James with live consultancy experience, the most recent being a UK market entry project for a Vietnamese company producing a variety of coconut products.
At present, James is preparing his dissertation which will add to existing research using primary research to investigate the barriers that prevent Micro business transitioning into Small business.
