Jacqui holds a BA (Hons) and MA Cantab Education Studies with Music, and a PGCE (M) Secondary Music from the University of Cambridge, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and a Masters in Education from the Open University. She is hoping to complete her PhD part time.
Jacqui has worked for the University of Cambridge both within the Widening Participation team and within the Faculty of Education, working with undergraduate and PGCE students. Over the last 13 years she has taught in the primary, secondary and HE sectors, and continues to teach musical theatre at a specialist centre. She took over as Course Director for the PGCE/CertEd course at West Suffolk College in 2017.
Jacqui’s main areas of educational interest concern the philosophy and sociology of education, in particular the influence and impact of school teachers on widening participation in HE. She enjoys leading professional development sessions and enabling people to build a creative learning environment across all subject areas.
Other than education and music, her interests include theatre, comedy, motorsport, books and podcasts.
