I chose to study at the University of Suffolk (then UCS) because of its close proximity to my home in Stowmarket. Knowing that I didn't have to leave home or change jobs provided me with stability whilst enabling me to study.
As much as I have travelled in my life, Suffolk is home to me with its old streets, lined with the characteristic, multi-coloured and thatched roof houses. The University compliments the heritage of Ipswich with a fresh approach and light, atmospheric buildings. There is a modern, relaxed vibe and plenty of support wherever you need it.
Having previously lived and worked abroad in France and Fuerteventura, the BA (Hons) Tourism Management and Hospitality Management degree is completely relevant to my professional experience. Learning about the intricacies of an industry in which I am already active and gaining further placement experience is invaluable.
I am currently studying full-time, in the second year of my degree, and looking to progress and take on a management role in the tourism development sector when I graduate.
