Kenny has worked at the interface between academia and business for over 20 years. He particularly enjoys using his expertise to effect the transfer of knowledge and underlying skills to create new products and services for economic growth. Kenny understands the importance of building and supporting collaborations and partnerships – often across different disciplines as a key part in any successful project.

Originally qualified as a chemist followed by a PhD in microbiological chemistry, Kenny spent 15 years working in industrial R&D before moving into Knowledge Exchange. Initially working at the Babraham Campus, Cambridge, Kenny successfully managed numerous Knowledge Exchange projects ranging from collaborative R&D, new technology evaluation to patent formation and licensing. More recently, Kenny has held positions at Norwich Research Park and New Anglia LEP in business innovation roles.  Prior to joining the University of Suffolk Kenny was the Knowledge Exchange Lead at the University of East Anglia for the biotechnology theme in Research England’s £4.7M EIRA project.
