Dr Cleo Protogerou is an applied health psychologist who received her BSc from the University of Social and Political Sciences (Panteion), Greece; her MSc from the University of Manchester, UK; and her PhD from the University of Bath, UK. Her research focuses on exploring psychological and societal determinants of health and risk-taking behaviours and evaluating the efficacy of health behaviour interventions. Furthermore, her research includes aspects of nutritional psychology, in particular, the psychological dimensions of carbohydrate restrictive diets and fasting. She is also Adjunct lecturer at the Psychology Department, University of Cape Town, South Africa; Project Scientist at the University of California, Merced; and Instructor at the Centre for Nutritional Psychology.
