Debra joined the University of Suffolk in November 2018 as Higher & Degree Apprenticeship Champion for the neaco project. In July 2019, Debra moved across to the Business Engagement and Entrepreneurship Directorate, taking up the role of Business Development Manager (CPD) where she actively engaged with local businesses, external training providers and academic staff at the University of Suffolk to develop a portfolio of Continual Professional Development (CPD) and short courses. As part of her role, Debra undertook a survey of training needs in the region and submitted a bid for a new In-Career Education and Training (ICET) Project to the European Social Fund. In January 2021, the University received confirmation that the ICET Project funding valued at just under £1m had been successful. In January 2021, Debra took up the role of Project Manager for the ICET Project and has since been working to implement the project.
Debra graduated From Oxford Brookes University in 1999 with a BA (Hons) degree in Business Administration and Management and went on to complete a PGCE (Business, Post 16) at the University of East London. Debra spent more than two decades delivering employability and outplacement projects including redundancy and redeployment projects across multiple sectors. She also delivered 1:1 executive development programmes to CEX level professionals for five years at 'Outplacement First'.
