Chris Bally is Deputy Chief Executive at Suffolk County Council and is responsible for corporate services, with leadership responsibility for the Council’s corporate strategy, business planning and performance management and services including finance, HR, procurement, legal and IT.
In his role as Deputy Chief Executive, he works on Organisation, System and Public Service Design projects across Suffolk and leads the Council’s Transformation Portfolio, Digital Business Programme and sits on a number of national bodies including the Local Government Delivery Council and the County Council’s Network Policy Advisory Group.
He has been with the County Council for 10 years following time at Tendring District Council managing Property, IT and Corporate Performance. Prior to that he worked in a national role for the Audit Commission focusing on value for money in public services and started his career as a Policy Officer with Suffolk County Council.
Outside of work, he is a father of four daughters, loves the outdoors and is a keen open water swimmer. He has been a Director of a Charity, Social Enterprise, a Chair of Governors and member of an Interim Executive Board at an Academy and is a long-suffering season-ticket holder at Ipswich Town.
