Carol's work is in higher education and she brings a range of career coaching skills and teaching experience in management and professional development to her role as a Visiting Fellow. As a Senior Lecturer at UCS until 2014, Carol led the full time MBA programme. An experienced personal tutor she supported students in their transition from Sixth Form, (or for mature students, from work) to university to help maximise their retention and personal achievement.
In addition to leading on student employability within the Suffolk Business School, Carol also contributed to University-wide policy and practice to enhance the employability of graduates to ensure that students were work-ready and career informed. She worked closely with local employers to build business partnerships to promote student work placements and internships. Her Visiting Fellow role allows her to continue to support University of Suffolk employability initiatives.
More recently Carol has been a Career Coach at the University of Essex supporting final year undergraduates into positive graduate outcomes; and an Employability Tutor, developing credit-bearing Employability modules across the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum.
After ten years of experience in HR in the utilities, Carol made a career in higher education. Educated at the University of Essex (BA Hons) and UEA (MA in Human Resource Strategy), Carol has a PGCE and is a Senior Fellow of the HEA. She is also a member of the Chartered Management Institute.
