Cara works within the Market Research and Development team in the Directorate of External Relations. Cara works closely with academic Departments and employers to develop the University’s portfolio of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and to promote the University’s apprenticeship offer. Cara liaises with employers locally and nationally to promote the University as a training provider and is responsible for the development of strategies to support the enrolment of Apprentices.
Cara joined the University in July 2017 as Business Development Manager, having previously worked at the University of Essex as a Partnerships Manager. This involved managing the University’s relationships with several academic partner institutions, ensuring the efficient operation of such partnerships and quality assurance processes. Prior to this, Cara worked in Student Recruitment and Marketing at the University of Essex, with responsibility for UK and EU recruitment and the organisation of University-wide open days.
Cara is a qualified, currently non-practising, solicitor and prior to joining the Higher Education Sector in 2011, Cara worked as a Family Law Solicitor. Cara obtained her LLB Law Degree from the University of Kent, undertook the Legal Practice Course with the College of Law and then secured a training contract with a firm in Ipswich.
