Antonio has developed, at a concept stage, a pro-active home health management system aiming at reducing strain on the NHS from hospital readmissions. The system, when tested, would potentially save resources, and improve patients’ outcomes by preventing emergency situations before they occur. He is actively looking for commercial partners to convert his concept into a functional prototype.

Antonio is currently leading on two research projects in collaboration with the University of Bologna, Italy, the University of West Attica, Greece and Kingston University London, UK.

The projects aim at:

  • Assessing the Therapeutic Effects of Melissa Officinalis Essential Oil and Massage on the Quality of Life of Patients’ Affected by Alzheimer’s disease
  • Exploring nursing students’ attitudes on caring for people living with HIV/AIDS

Both studies imply mixed methods which includes quantitative as well as qualitative approaches.
