Students from the University of Suffolk have recently returned from a trip to Switzerland.
Second and final year Sport & Exercise Science and Nutrition and Human Health students went on the five-day trip which has been a tradition of the course; running for the last 5 years.
Adam Stiff, a former Sport & Exercise Science student and now a Technician at the University said “The purpose of the trip is to give the students the opportunity to do some physiology tests at different altitudes. More specifically, the tests consisted of the measurement of blood oxygen concentration, peak flow, blood lactate levels and heart rate monitoring. These tests were performed and stored for later analysis, so the students can have the opportunity to analyse the samples they made themselves”.
“The trip gave students the chance to see the production, packaging and presentation of the famous Swiss chocolate and cheese by visiting the distinct Cailler chocolate factory and the renowned Gruyère cheese factory.”
Student Rudo Mungazi added “I had a great time and loved every minute of it. It was a great experience for me going up the Jungfrau and having a free day to explore more of that beautiful area.”
