Students preparing to take a bite out of the Big Apple

10 Mar 2016 10:00AM

BA (Hons) Photography students are preparing to head to the city that never sleeps as part of their course.

The group students will be in New York benefitting from bespoke meetings with the New York Times as well as guided tours through photographic exhibitions at The Guggenheim, The Pierpont Morgan Library, the Museum of Modern Art and Aperture Foundation.

Lecturer Geoff Buono says students studying Photography have been visiting New York for the past five years and this trip builds on the contacts and experiences from the previous visits to offer the students a pastoral and cultural encounter of one of the worlds most exciting cities. These visits inform the modules that students are studying as well as offering networking opportunities. A student who travelled last year has, on the back of that trip, arranged gallery meetings to discuss his work.
