The University of Suffolk men’s football team have won the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league and will be promoted for next season.
28 students from across the University have played for the team over the course of 2017/18 season and they’ve been supported by the Students’ Union.
The University’s Sports Science Department has also been providing support in the form of fitness testing, match day filming and player monitoring using the STATSports equipment.
Thanks to the success of the team, the University are looking to expand with a further two competitive men’s football teams for the next academic year.
Jemel Fox, Coach and student said, “I’m delighted for the boys! The hard work, commitment and dedication has been rewarded with us winning the league and I’m buzzing for next season. Can’t wait to get started again in September!”
Sarah Dooley, Sport Projects Manager at the University of Suffolk Students’ Union, said, “I’d like to offer a huge congratulations to everyone involved on behalf of the Students’ Union. Our competitive sports teams have been fantastic ambassadors for the University this year in their respective leagues and I’m delighted their hard work and professionalism is paying off.
