COME BUILD AND EAT WITH US. Green Build [F]easts at SPILL Festival 2021

18 Oct 2021 3:15PM

RIBA Suffolk and the University of Suffolk’s Architecture department are looking forward to welcoming you in the Green Build [F]easts, part of this year’s SPILL Festival.

The Green Build [F]easts are a series of workshops and events sponsored by the RIBA that teach people to come together and enjoy building and eating sustainably, experiencing, and sharing culture.

Each of the Green Build Feasts is a workshop with a meal and focuses on localities and communities of people in Ipswich. The product of the workshops is a sustainable cob oven that will fire for the feasts, and which can be naturally absorbed by the natural environment. Participants will be contributing to the long history of food culture in Suffolk.

Associate Professor in Architecture and co-lead of Green Build [F]east Dr Liana Psarologaki said: “We invite all students, staff and the community to learn more about sharing by building and eating together. We have teamed up with RIBA Suffolk, local artists, and academics to show people how important food and material culture is. It is what we share that matters”.

The events will take place on the Green Common outside of Cult Café on the Ipswich Waterfront:
