The Chief Executive of Suffolk based Gotelee Solicitors, Charles Rowett, has joined the University of Suffolk’s charitable Foundation Board.
The Board was established to help develop and grow the University’s philanthropic activity. Financial contributions are granted to students, staff and facilities to make transformational changes.
Since the inception of the Board in 2016 over 100 projects have benefited including the Supported Student Placement Scheme for students who are currently experiencing limited opportunities, a 3D Printing Recycling and Sustainability Initiative, Sponsorship of student athletes to support and encourage excellence in sport and the renovation of the area outside the University’s Arts Building to promote wellbeing for staff and students.
Charles Rowett said of his appointment “The University of Suffolk is an exciting and inspirational organisation of enormous strategic importance to the county. I am delighted to become a member of the Foundation Board which plays a key role in supporting greater access to high quality education, especially for local people and funds a wide range of projects aimed at improving the student experience.”
Former Vice-Chancellor, Richard Lister OBE, replaced Celia Edey OBE as Chair of the Foundation Board in October. Celia will remain a Board member for both the University of Suffolk Board and the Foundation Board until July 2019.
