The University of Suffolk’s Associate Professor in Diagnostic Radiography has been appointed as the Editor of leading industry journal Imaging and Oncology.
Dr Ruth Strudwick, who is also Academic Director for Radiography at the University, will edit the annual publication for imaging and therapy professionals.
Ruth is a diagnostic radiographer by background, initially working as a radiographer and a clinical lecturer at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. In 2003 she pursued academia, becoming a lecturer, graduating to the position of senior lecturer in 2011 and then associate professor in 2015.
She teaches on several courses at the University of Suffolk and is interested in interprofessional working, clinical education and work-based culture.
Her other commitments including being the chair of the Association of Radiography Educators, an accredited assessor for the SCoR, an External Examiner for Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen) and University College Dublin, and reviewer for two international journals, Radiography and The Journal of Organisational Ethnography.
Ruth said "I am honoured to take on this new role. I am really excited about the challenges that being an editor will bring and I look forward to meeting new people and commissioning articles for future editions of the journal.”
