The role and you
Applications are invited for an exciting and innovative role to support the delivery of the Passion-HF study, a European Funded programme that will explore the feasibility and acceptability of an e-health Artificial Intelligence avatar-based programme; DoctorMe. DoctorMe has been previously tested to ensure that it can support self-management and, appropriate treatment of Heart Failure. We are now extending this project to patients living in rural areas within the community, residential and nursing homes.
You will be the primary contact points for clinicians, residential and nursing home staff. Working with the wider team and the research networks you will help publicise the study, identify GP networks and identify potentially eligible residential and nursing homes. You will communicate and support the GPs and residential/ nursing care home staff with the elements of the study, possibly in person, by telephone, video conferencing and email. You will be, receiving fully informed consent from participants and their carers (especially those with fluctuating capacity) and collecting health data from participants. You will be involved in designing and carrying out qualitative interviews with clinicians as well as patients and their unpaid carers, deliver stakeholder workshops and support the overall management of the project.
This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, an in-depth knowledge of the study protocols and procedures, meticulous record keeping and adherence to the regulatory codes of Good Clinical Practice. You will need to work flexibly, independently and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. On a day-to-day basis you will be working closely with the Director of the Integrated Care Institute, the Research Associate and other members of the team within PASSION-HF.
You will be a registered nurse on the NMC register who may be looking to move into research full-time. You may have experience of multimethod studies and their delivery. However, most importantly, you will have experience of working with patients, their unpaid carers and wider family in the community as well as those resident in care and nursing homes.
The Integrated Care Academy
The Integrated Care Academy is the first UK Centre to support the delivery of integrated care across health, social and third sector care. It seeks to improve patient and carer outcomes by conducting research of local relevance and international quality in three priority areas: Optimal mental health and emotional wellbeing; Best quality of life as we grow older; and, Care and Support towards end of life. Across these three areas, the ICA has five core programmes identified by stakeholders representing over 100 organisations: Education, training and development, leadership and cultural change, Workforce Development, Digital, data and technology and, Research and Innovation. The three priority areas and five core programmes have the overarching aim of reducing health and care inequalities.
