Professor in Leadership and Management

Salary range: 
£55,570 –£72,802 per annum

The University now wishes to appoint a new Professor in Leadership and Management and Associate Dean Research in the Suffolk Business School.

The Suffolk Business School is a new and innovative community impact Business School. Based at the heart of one of the UK’s fastest city economies in Ipswich we are committed to developing the talent and entrepreneurial effectiveness of all learners across the University of Suffolk and within the local business community. At the heart of the Suffolk Business School is the Ipswich Waterfront Innovation Centre (IWIC), a dedicated space to bring together students, academics, and businesses to drive forward change and innovation.

The appointed Professor will be responsible for providing leadership to the University’s USP around leadership and management, including building a vision and possessing the ability to effectively direct and manage an associated multi-disciplinary, inclusive research. As Associate Dean Research, the Professor will lead research at Suffolk Business School and work with the PVC and School to develop the Leadership Academy. The Professor will support the University in achieving research degree awarding powers through the recruitment and supervision of PhD students; work alongside other senior members of staff to prepare submissions for the Research Excellence Framework; and mentor and develop staff within the Business School. 

We are seeking applications from accomplished and ambitious academics who hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area and can demonstrate their ability to lead the development of excellence in research and contribute their own research in one or more of the areas within the Business School.  A strong research reputation, and corresponding track record of publications, is essential, as is a successful track record of securing research funding from Research Councils and other funding bodies.  Candidates will also have experience of delivering strong and effective academic leadership.

Applications are invited from individuals who also have significant experience of delivering excellent education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and of supervising doctoral students to completion.  The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate established links with local, national and international organisations in one or more of the applied research areas within the Business School.
