Professor in Education and Social Mobility (Ref:972)

Salary range: 
£55,750 to £60,905 per annum

The University of Suffolk is a new and ambitious institution with a well-established track record of increasing access to higher education and a growing research profile.

The University is seeking to appoint an ambitious academic leader as a Professor in Education and Social Mobility to assist the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in building a strong, sustainable research culture, producing outputs which positively impact the lives of those in our communities.

Research into the philosophy and pedagogy of education has been identified as one of the University’s research priorities and the successful applicant will be required to work with  cross-disciplinary teams to lead this area.

The appointee will have substantial knowledge in the field of education research, theory of change and widening participation, leadership and a track-record of successfully securing research funding.
