Following our first submission to REF 2021, University of Suffolk are making a significant investment into Research in the University including recruiting 7 new Professors. We believe that a strong, high-performing University requires a rich research culture generating high quality outputs and intellectual capital. We are now looking for and exceptional research leader with significant REF experience to lead and develop research across the University in preparation for the REF 2027/28 submission.

This is a Professorial level appointment and the post holder will have overall responsibility for the research directorate our growing Professoriate and is expected to review and further develop the University’s research strategy and lead the University’s preparation for a successful 2027/8 future REF submission. Another significant priority for the University is achieving RDAP by 2025. You will also network effectively, within and beyond the institution, to build research collaborations working arrangements with relevant professional and other external agencies.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of developing REF strategies and submissions, ideally within a higher education setting. You will also have experience of effective people management and performance management either in Industry or Education with excellent interpersonal, networking and collaborative skills.
