Parent and Carer Ambassador

Salary range:
£8.91 per hour, plus holiday pay

Casual contract

neaco is a collaborative programme between East Anglian universities and further education colleges (FEC). It exists to support underrepresented young people in understanding their study and progression options, particularly in relation to Higher Education (HE), including Higher and Degree Apprenticeships (HADA).

As a Parent and Carer ambassador you will be a part of a team of experienced parents and carers who can talk to families with pupils still in school or college and offer reassurances about HE. Being a Parent and Carer Ambassadors, you should have supported your own young people to explore studying in, and applying to, HE. This also includes HADA.

We know that parents and carers often have concerns about their young people continuing to study after sixth form and we are looking to appoint Parent and Carer Ambassadors to share their ‘real’ experiences with other parents and carers to offer knowledge and reassure them about the process. Your young person does not need to be studying at the University of Suffolk, but we would like to recruit Parent and Carer Ambassadors who live in Suffolk.

If you are interested in becoming one of our Parent and Carer Ambassadors, please provide us with your CV and a covering letter as to how you meet the selection criteria. This can be emailed directly to Naomi Miller, Higher Education Parent and Carer Champion, n.miller2@uos.ac.uk

Closing Date: Friday 22nd October 2021

Interview Date: Monday 1st November 2021
