Library Assistant (Ref:032)

Salary range: 
£17,338 to £18,529 per annum, pro rata

In the department of Library and Learning Services, we pride ourselves in delivering excellent customer service for all students, staff and visitors to the Library. We currently have a vacancy for a motivated and proactive individual to join our team.


We are looking for someone who aspires to deliver excellent customer service and supports the values of our service and institution. The skills required for the role include;  

  • excellent communication skills 
  • the ability to remain calm and confident when working with customers and partners 
  • quick, efficient and accurate working to exceed customer expectations and requirements

Working as part of a team of evening and weekend Library Assistants, the post holder will work the following hours (18.75 hours per week):

Thursday:        17:00 – 21:00, 

Friday:             13:00 – 16:00       

Friday:             17:00 – 21:00

Saturday:        08:45 – 17:00 (with 1 unpaid hour for lunch)

Extra hours will be offered to cover team absence and annual leave.
