Lecturer in Life Sciences - Teaching & Learning (Ref:100)

Salary range: 
£35,845 to £41,526 per annum, pro rata

0.2 FTE - Fixed term until August 31st 2022

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative academic to join our growing Life Science team and contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate programmes and in particular to coordinate our final year Professional Development for Life Sciences module taken by all life science students and lead our first year Introduction to Nutrition and Health module.

Applicants should have a track record of innovative teaching and learning in higher education including experience of courses, modules and assessment design and associated quality assurance processes including validations and reapproval.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with experience in designing and developing teaching, learning and assessment across a range of levels at access/foundation through to undergraduate programmes. We are also interested in candidates who have experience of dealing with students with additional needs

The post holder will be expected to contribute to teaching within the school and carry out undergraduate and teaching, including planning, organisation and delivery of programmes of study; this will include designing and marking assessments.  They will also have the opportunity to engage in public outreach and recruitment activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant higher degree in life sciences, a PGCE in post compulsory education, and have significant experience of pedagogical leadership and organisation of qualificatory courses in the post compulsory education sector.
