Lecturer in Biomedical Science, Haematology (Ref:212)

Salary range: 
£36,382 to £42,149 per annum

Full time, fixed term (10 months)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Biomedical Scientist within the specialism of Haematology and Blood transfusion to join our growing Life Science team and contribute to the delivery of our BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science degree programme for a period of 12 months for maternity cover.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience practicing as an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist within Hematology and Blood transfusion laboratories, and be a member of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). They will also have a track record of contributing to quality assurance, and training. Ideally  experience of teaching in Higher Education or a similar environment and a relevant postgraduate teaching qualification is desirable. 

The post holder will be expected to carry out undergraduate  teaching, including planning, organisation and delivery of programmes of study; this will include designing and marking assessments.  They will also have the opportunity to engage in public outreach and recruitment activities.

The successful candidate will undertake teaching on Biomedical Science specific modules including Haematology and Blood Transfusion and medical microbiology, as well as professional practice and more general biomedical science areas such as pathology.

This position will particularly suit candidates working within in a healthcare setting who want to pursue an academic career or  someone looking to take a full or partial sabbatical from industry or healthcare arena.
