The new Architecture subject area at Suffolk is seeking a proactive and construction-oriented UK qualified architect to lead the technical and professional studies strand in its new and aspirational BA (Hons) Architecture. The successful candidate will join a highly qualified, diverse team and will assist in professional accreditation, also expected to play a role in developing the vision of Architecture at Suffolk on postgraduate level and in research.
The successful candidate will lead Systems, Integrated Technology and Professional Practice modules and will also contribute to design studio delivery. The successful candidate is anticipated to contribute to learning, teaching and assessment and must be prepared to offer lab support and practical tuition as well as seminar-based teaching. We invite applications from practitioners with a track record of relevant expertise in the UK who are aware of ARB/RIBA professional standards and regulations.
At Suffolk we aim to maintain a strong sense of community where students appreciate their sense of place both within their year groups and their specialist area of study. Architecture is based in a purpose-built arts facility with dedicated studios. This is a self-contained building with specialist resources in Ipswich campus of the University of Suffolk.
