The University of Suffolk is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual for the post of Head of Marketing and Communications in the Directorate of External Relations. This is a full time, permanent post based at the Ipswich Campus.
The Directorate of External Relations is responsible for the areas of Marketing and Communications (Internal and External), Admissions, Student Recruitment (UK/EU and International), Widening Participation and Outreach, and Events and Conferencing.
This position will play a key senior role within the Directorate of External Relations during an exciting period of our development, leading on and implementing a range of marketing and communication opportunities and strategies for the University including; digital marketing and oversight of the website, campaign management (including major campaigns such as Clearing), brand management (both in the UK and overseas), publications and print material, internal and external communications, and university corporate and recruitment events and conferences. The post-holder is responsible for the day-to-day line management of staff in the marketing and communications team.
Applicants will need to possess a high level of expertise in marketing, brand and communications strategy, with line management experience and the ability to advise senior management. You will have a proven track record in the development and delivery of marketing campaigns. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good organisational skills. Experience of working in marketing and communications in higher education is not essential, but experience of working in the sector with a good understanding of the challenges facing the higher education market both in the UK and internationally, would be a distinct advantage.
