This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of digital and information services in an institution which is ambitious and progressive, and playing a transformative role in its region and further afield.
The University of Suffolk is one of the newest UK universities and is driven by a strong commitment to social mobility and inclusion. The University is strongly embedded in the local region, and the student experience is at the heart of the University. Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Helen Langton, the University is continuing to grow and there are a number of on-going exciting strategic developments, including the new DigiTech Centre in partnership with BT. The University now wishes to appoint a new Director of Digital.
The appointee will lead digital development and information services at the University, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Digital will develop and deliver a digital strategy to ensure that all of our activities – learning and teaching, research, business engagement and business processes – are innovative and digitally enabled and that we put digital transformation at the heart of our thinking. The appointee will oversee and develop a multifunctional and diverse team, seeking to maximise its efficacy and customer-service orientation.
Ideal candidates will be experienced IT professionals, bringing with them a strategic mind-set and a full appreciation of the technological issues and opportunities faced by complex organisations in highly competitive markets with a diverse range of customers. They will bring a successful track record of delivering modern, high quality and flexible information services, with modernization and service improvement. Naturally collegiate and customer focused, the appointee will be adept at building effective and positive working relations with both internal and external stakeholders.
