The University of Suffolk Dental Community Interest Company
An innovative enterprise, committed to working in partnership to improve the dental health of the people of Suffolk.
Ordinary dentistry delivered with extraordinary care.
The University of Suffolk Dental Community Interest Company (CIC) is an exciting and innovative collaboration between the University of Suffolk and the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, it aims to provide high-quality NHS dental services to the population of Suffolk through brand new, state of the art clinical facilities situated on the scenic Ipswich Waterfront. The CIC will open its doors to patients in Spring 2023.
As a new provider of NHS dental care in the region the CIC is well-placed to offer ordinary dentistry delivered with extraordinary care. Our ethos is all about enabling dental care, improving oral health by increasing access to dental services and at the same time providing opportunities for starting or continuing a dental career in the East of England.
We have an ambitious vision for the future of the CIC, and we are looking for an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to work in close partnership with the Chair of Board, and University of Suffolk’s Pro Vice Chancellor (Health) to establish the Ipswich site and develop a strategy for expansion. The role holder will be committed to developing the provision in partnership with external stakeholders, while ensuring full regulatory compliance and providing sound financial governance.
The Chief Executive will take charge of an organisation which aims to achieve an enviable record of professional competence and high reputation with patients. The qualities and skills of the incumbent must demonstrate the necessary leadership to ensure viability of the company and the provision of high-quality dental services to all patients whilst generating a new impetus to improvement.
Importance is attached to prior experience and proven success in leading such a professional services group and the ability to deliver current services and build new business and relationships. In addition, the Chief Executive will demonstrate personal values consistent with the ideals of the employees and the role of a social enterprise.
This will be a key role in the set up and on-going development of the Community Interest Company. Depending on timing, appointment may initially be ‘hosted’ by the University of Suffolk (with subsequent TUPE transfer to the Community Interest Company, which will then directly employ). The terms and conditions of the appointments will be those of the CIC rather than the University. Further information can be provided at interview.
