Ipswich Waterfront Innovation Centre, The Atrium, Seminar Room

Join us in National Apprenticeship Week on Wednesday 6th March for a Special Edition of the Quay to Growth Business Breakfast series featuring our head of Student Recruitment and Market Development, Karen Hinton, who will be presenting on Degree Apprenticeships for Social Mobility?

Karen is Head of Student Recruitment and Market Development at the University of Suffolk. She takes strategic responsibility for the development of student recruitment activity across the UK, and outreach activity to promote higher education to groups normally under-represented in HE. Karen was involved in setting up Degree Apprenticeships at the University in 2016-2018 and is now undertaking a part-time PhD to explore the impact of Degree Apprenticeships on widening participation to HE.

This topic will be of interest to those who are looking to learn more about degree apprenticeships as well as employers looking to take on apprentices.

The Quay to Growth Business Breakfast Series provides an opportunity to hear some unique insights into leadership, management, innovation and enterprise from academic staff across a variety of disciplines. As well as giving you the opportunity to join our emergent enterprise network.

At each of our events there will be a presentation by a member of University of Suffolk academic staff, an opportunity for Q&A’s and business and HE enquiries, as well as informal networking.

The format is below:

  • 7.45am – 8.10am Registration, Breakfast and Networking

  • 8.10am – 8.15am Welcome and Introduction to the University and Ensors

  • 8.15am – 8.45am Presentation by a member of Suffolk's academic staff

  • 8.45am – 9.00am Q&A
