EcoLab Architecture Hackathon

Friday, 5 June 2020,
10:00 to 16:00

Friday 5 June and Thursday 11 June 2020, 10am - 4pm

Join us for the EcoLab Architecture Hackathon 2020, an online collaborative workshop to create designs for a new zero-carbon off-grid research centre. Working alongside architectural practice, Studio Manifest, this is an amazing opportunity for architecture students to gain experience working on a live project and to see their designs develop into a built scheme.

In partnership with the University of Suffolk and the Suffolk Sustainability Institute, and validated by BT and Suffolk County Council, the ‘EcoLab’ will be an exemplar in sustainable design and used as a ‘living’ laboratory to test the performance of the materials and technologies being implemented.

Over the two days participants will work in groups to prepare a series of sketch proposals, before developing these into 3D Revit models. The event also includes an introduction to BIM level 3, and will explore how to collaborate on projects in a cloud based environment.

Following the workshop there will be further opportunities to be involved in the project, including Work Experience possibilities, and future construction site orientated activities.

For any questions, and to apply for a place, email Applicants should include a short summary of why they would like to be involved in the project, and what they can bring to the team.
