The annual Dragon Boat Race returns to the Waterfront – Saturday 3 June 2023, which last year gathered crowds and raised thousands of pounds for charity. Sponsored by Cory Brothers, the event will be in aid of Brave Futures, a Suffolk-based charity providing a vital support service to child victims/survivors of sexual abuse in Suffolk and Norfolk.
Government statistics tell us that 1 in 10 children are victims of sexual abuse - that's approximately 12,000 children in Suffolk and Norfolk who need Brave Future's support.
The University of Suffolk will be represented in the race by teams from the Directorates of Marketing, Communications & International and Business Engagement, Careers & Employability.
In addition to coming along to cheer our teams (first race is at 10am with finals mid-afternoon), we would encourage you to give anything you can to support this extremely worthwhile and important charity.

The University is holding a ‘Doors Open Day’ style event to coincide with the Dragon Boat Race. The event will be open from 9.30am-12.30pm and will include exhibitions on the ground floor of JHB, and the opportunity for visitors to the Waterfront to see some of our specialist facilities on the ground floor of the Health and Wellbeing Building, and 07/22 4 in the Arts Building. The University will also have a small marquee on the waterfront so feel free to pop in to say hello throughout the event.
