The university is delighted to work again with the Association of Suffolk Art Teachers (ASAT) to present CONCRETE. ASAT is a group of artists/teachers who aim to remain in touch with their own practice as artists whilst working in a variety of educational contexts.
ASAT organises regular exhibitions open to anyone working in educational establishments. Exhibitors include teachers through from primary and first school, middle, secondary, further and higher education. Their exhibitions are rarely thematically or conceptually based, but allow all participating artist/teachers to show their most recent works. The wide ranging and personal responses of the individuals make for varied and exciting shows which continues to motivate the teachers involved in the production of their work as well as ultimately inspiring the young people they work with.
The exhibitors firmly believe that to remaining active as artistic practitioners is vital to successful and rewarding teaching. Leading by example, actively using their own involvement generates enthusiasm within each other and young people.
