Introduction
The programme is aimed at team leaders, managers & emerging managers in a range of health, social care and educational organisations. This course is informed by the Professional Capabilities Framework and the Chief Social Workers' Knowledge and Skills Statements for practice leaders and practice supervisors. It also maps against National Occupational Standards for management where relevant, with a clear work-related emphasis. The modules incorporate the syllabus for Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership (Chartered Management Institute).There is a focus on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding in the sector. The standards are used as a framework for providing a qualification that is fit for purpose, developmental, effective and relevant across education, health & social care organisations. It is also informed by the needs of individuals and their organisations and is designed as flexible and accessible. Students undertaking continuing professional development courses develop their assessment and intervention skills and other skills such as mentoring, teaching and supervision.
