This CPD short course aims to provide students with the knowledge to critically and independently assess leadership and management within children’s services. Within this course, students will explore the impact of hierarchy, rules and procedures, and leadership styles on decision-making processes, team work, and allocation of scarce resources. Using tools like discourse analysis, students will also explore the complex relationships between educational contexts, families, young individuals, and local and national government, the economy and media, and be able to systematically and creatively evaluate these social environments.
This CPD short course uses a flexible, blended approach, so face-to-face lectures and seminars are complimented by online resources, interactive activities and support. Taught sessions take place in Ipswich. Dates for the taught sessions for the academic year 2018-2019 are:
- Saturday, 16 February, 9am-5pm
