Two half days
To facilitate participants to enhance their leadership capabilities through identifying and understanding their approach to leadership and leadership development needs. The aim is to provide participants with strategies and techniques to aid personal, professional and career development through leadership.
The development outcomes will be to:
Develop a more nuanced understanding of the difference between management and leadership
Understand self in relation to being a leader and/or manager
Apply leadership to context
Effectively apply leadership in relation to others
Create a personal leadership development plan
Middle to senior managers
Robert Price is an Associate Professor specialising in organisational change management and leadership. He contributes to the delivery of the School's continuing professional development programme, having delivered a number of seminars/workshops on managing organisational change for Suffolk Constabulary, West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust and Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. He is Chair of the Organisational Studies Track, British Academy of Management.
Course will cover:
- Difference between management and leadership, and identifying individual’s management/leadership style
- Putting leadership into action; leading people in context
- Reflection and leadership development planning
