The centre will provide a knowledge and evidence base and focal point for female entrepreneurs.
The Suffolk Centre for Female Entrepreneurship will be a unique resource within UK Innovation Centres in both Suffolk and further afield. The Centre aims to provide a leadership role and knowledge base for the support and promotion of female entrepreneurship, innovation within business and a reduction in gender inequality across all business sectors.
The Centre, located within the Ipswich Waterfront Innovation Centre (IWIC) at the University of Suffolk, will provide a regional centre of excellence developing diversity within business, contributing to the breakdown of barriers and promoting inclusive communication.
The Centre will also contribute to regional job creation and local productivity, the support of sustainable enterprises and increased female participation in entrepreneurship, as well as promoting collaboration between businesses and higher education.
