With winter approaching, your uni room might start to feel a bit cold and boring. Time to spice things up a bit! There are all sorts of easy, cheap ways for you to do this, so get ready to be creative and have some fun decorating your room.

Staying warm

The bed takes up most of the room in my accommodation, so this is where I put the most effort into making it look a bit cosier. Get yourself a couple of cushions and a throw, and you’ll have a great place to curl up with a cup of tea while you study (or watch films!)

Just a cuppa

Winter is the time for hot chocolate, so why not get a little travel kettle, mug and some hot chocolate powder for your room? Perfect for when you come home from lectures and want something to warm you up a bit.

Simple decorations

Even something as simple as putting up a few photos can make all the difference in brightening up your room. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, take a look in some of the shops home sections for a couple of nick nacks to decorate your room with.

A little bit of light

The one thing I absolutely love in my room is my fairy lights. They make all the difference in making my room cosy. Think about getting some; the batteries usually last quite long. Candles also look really nice at this time of year. Remember to check if your accommodation allows candles. If they don’t, get some battery operated ones; they're almost as good as the real thing!

If you’re not sure about what you could put in your room this winter, take a look at anything you left at home; I’m sure you’ll find something to brighten up the room a bit in these colder months.
