Ways to have a cost effective Valentine's

11 FEBRUARY 2020 - ROSE - THINGS TO DO

hearts

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to cost a fortune! That’s why today I am sharing some of my tips to have a cost effective Valentine’s Day.

Make something!

Let’s start with an obvious one, it is so easy to spend an arm and a leg on Valentine’s Day presents, but it can be a lot nicer to receive a gift that have little to no monetary value but instead has a great deal of sentimental value! How about starting off simple and making a card? A simple task but a massive gesture. A quick Pinterest search can also throw up hundreds of ideas and designs that you can personalise for your loved one.

Leftover dinner roulette

A fun game that can make great food and saves waste! Basically this involves using whatever ingredients you have in your cupboard to make something delicious. This will require little money, but lots of imagination! But if you are really uninspired I recommend pasta and a homemade source with whatever veg you have in your fridge.

Explore the local area

Why spend a load of money on a date? In Suffolk we are very fortunate to have beautiful surroundings right on our doorstep. Have an explore of the local area or even get the train a stop or two outside of Ipswich so that you don’t have to spend much or travel far to look at the stunning Suffolk countryside! We also have an amazing range of parks in town itself which can be great to explore and share with someone you love.

Spend time away from screens

Simple but effective! Our lives are dominated by screens and technology so spending some time away from them and focusing on interacting with other humans is detrimental to our wellbeing and none more so than spending time with people we love. Allocate time specifically away from screens and I’m sure you and your partner will appreciate the attention!

Charity shop presents

Ok hear me out, this might sound random but if you are really itching to get a present for your significant other then why not set a small budget and go thrifting? Ipswich has loads of charity shops full of exciting finds so why not have an explore and see what you can find!

So those are my ideas for ways to save money this Valentine’s Day, let us know your plans for saving money for Valentine’s Day in the comments and thank you for reading!
