Find the car park on your Sat Nav: Long Street, Ipswich IP3 8AH

From North, South and West (A14)
Follow the A14 to Junction 56, sign-posted A137 Ipswich Central. Follow the A137 and town centre signs. On approaching the town centre, cross over the river in the right hand lane, and cross the roundabout remaining in the right hand lane - the Novotel Hotel should be directly ahead. Take the second exit on the Novotel roundabout into Star Lane and stay in the right hand lane, sign-posted Felixstowe. Stay in the right hand lane through two-sets of traffic lights, and on to the third set of lights. After the third set of traffic lights the road bears round to the right. Move into the left hand lane after the traffic lights in order to follow the road round to the left. After the pedestrian crossing take a left into Back Hamlet followed by an immediate left into the visitor car park. At the pedestrian crossing, you should see the University of Suffolk Car Park on your left, and the University of Suffolk Waterfront Building on your right.

There are various car parks in and around the Ipswich Campus where you are able to park. You can also use the Ipswich map to help you navigate around the campus.

Disabled Parking: There is disabled parking in the Car Park, and also directly behind the Waterfront Building. Follow the directions above to use the Car Park. If you prefer to park behind the Waterfront Building, turn right after the pedestrian crossing, and then take the first right into Coprolite Street. The Waterfront Building will be on the right, with disabled parking available there.


Please note that a security barrier has been installed across the exit from the University car park onto Grimwade Street. The barrier has been put in place to protect the health and safety of students, staff and visitors by ensuring the car park is no longer a cut through from Fore Street/Back Hamlet onto Grimwade Street. The barrier will be accessible to students and staff via their ID cards. All visitors must request a pin code from the car park attendant on duty or will be given a code by the member of staff they are visiting.

Waterfront Building

Adjacent to the visitor car park is the Waterfront Building. Use the pedestrian crossing on Fore Street to reach the main entrance.

James Hehir Building

Located within close proximity to the Waterfront Building, the James Hehir Building is just a short walk along the quayside. For the main reception please go to the Waterfront Building.

Campus North - The East, West, Arts and Library Buildings

Follow campus signs at the visitors car park upon arrival tofind the relevant buildings which are located within close proximity.

Located a few hundred yards from the visitor car park, follow signs on foot to University of Suffolk at Suffolk New College. view map
