Talks and Presentations

 

The Student Recruitment and Outreach team visit schools, colleges and businesses to provide presentations and workshops covering a range of issues in Higher Education. The team are commited to providing high-quality information, advice and guidance for prospective students, their parents and advisors.

We deliver presentations on a wide range of subjects and can adapt them to meet specific requirements. Examples of presentations include:

  • Introduction to the University of Suffolk Courses, campuses and the student experience.

  • Why Go to University Information about the benefits of studying at University, including academic, social and employability benefits. Particularly suitable for students in Years 9-12 and parents.

  • Know Your Onions Making univeristy choices: An insight into how different each university is and advice and guidance on researching universities and courses. Particularly suitable for students in year 12.

  • Noodles and Other Matters Student finance: An introduction to tuition fees, financial support and budgeting tips. Particularly suitable for students in years 12 and 13 and/or parents.

  • Effectively Arrogant Personal statements: An introduction to the UCAS application process, what admissions tutors look for, and advice on writing a personal statement. Particularly suitable for students in year 12 or nearly in year 13.

  • Making a Late Application Advice and guidance for students that miss the UCAS January application deadline.

  • Return to Learning Information for mature students on academic expectations, finance and student support available to students who are returning to learning on either a part-time or full-time basis.

  • Student Life Information on living away from home/studying in the local area, student workloads, social life/students union, what to expect when you arrive. Particularly suitable for students in years 12 and 13.

  • Parents Evening Presentations We are more than happy to give talks to groups of parents on the University of Suffolk, Student Finance, University Admissions and Higher Education in general.
