University of Suffolk encourages students, staff and visitors to avoid single occupancy car journeys wherever possible. As well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, pollution and congestion, walking and cycling provide good exercise and journeys on public transport can be safer, more productive and less stressful than journeys made by car. If car travel is necessary, car-sharing is the most environmentally, economically and socially sustainable option. Some employers (including the university) pay additional expenses for each passenger carried on official business.
