Below we provide information on various internal support available, and we encourage you to take up this support as and when you need it:

- The Student Centre and Student Life Advisers offer appointments to support with time management and goal setting.
- The Suffolk Life Mentoring Scheme can match you with a peer for informal social and study support.
- All students will also be able to access support from the Student Experience Ambassadors. They aim to bridge the gap between students and staff by collaborating with Course Teams, Professional Services and the Students' Union to identify and resolve issues affecting the student experience. they also have a module on Brightspace, in which students can engage with. - The University of Suffolk Students' Union are there to provide a number of opportunities for students to shape their university experience through democracy, sports, societies, events, work opportunities and much more. The Students Union also provide an impartial advice service. Find out more here.
- The Library team offer a range of support opportunities including workshops for students on referencing, statistic, functional skills, research, academic writing as well as bookable one-to-one study skills sessions.
- Your programme may also have a Peer Assisted Student Success (PASS) peer mentoring programme where you can get advice and tips on achieving your programme - Please speak to your programme leader to discuss this further.
- The University is increasingly providing access to recordings of taught sessions which provides an opportunity to review teaching and content as many times as you need - Please speak to your relevant module leader for support with this.
- Book and take up academic tutorials where you can get academic guidance on assessment criteria and planning your assignments – Please speak to the relevant module leaders.
- Free assistive software is provided by the university to assist with aspects of your course as well as academic writing, such as ReadWriteGold (assistive technology which offers speech-to-text and text-to-speech functions as well as writing, spelling and grammar aids).
- The Disability and Wellbeing Team can provide support for students with the accessibility of their university experience when they have a specific learning difficulty, long-term health condition, mental health condition etc. The team can help with a variety of needs and support with reasonable adjustments and applications to the disabled student's allowance.
- In some cases, students may reach Higher Education and a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD) has not been identified. The University will work with you to find out if a specialist diagnostic assessment is recommended to find out whether you may have a SpLD e.g. Dyslexia, Dyspraxia.
- Silvercloud is a digital mental health platform where you can access self-help cognitive behavioural therapy programmes. The university also has access to guided programmes which can be recommended through our disability mental health advisors.
- Independent, impartial and professional counselling is available at the University of Suffolk and its partner colleges. This support is confidential, enabling students to discuss any problems they may have.
