Suffolk Business School Consultancy Services

Welcome to Suffolk Business School’s Consultancy Service. Established in 2017, we engage with clients who are seeking guidance in respect of commercial, management or other organisational challenges.

For the past 20 years, Suffolk Business School has been sending groups of its MBA students to Boston (Massachusetts) to work on pro bono consultancy projects in partial fulfilment of their degree. Typically, these projects involve a US-based small or medium-sized business looking to expand into European markets. Without exception, our student-consultants have always performed admirably on these projects. This live practical experience benefits all those involved; the students earn live consultancy experience, while the company benefits from a detailed report prepared by the students. In 2017, Suffolk Business School decided to start brokering this service closer to home.

Our broader objectives

  • To assist businesses and other organisations in the East Anglian region, and beyond;
  • To showcase the talent cultivated at Suffolk Business School;
  • To increase the commercial awareness of the University of Suffolk;
  • To bolster relations with Suffolk Business School’s alumni network.

How it works

Upon contacting the SBS Consultancy Service, we normally arrange a face-to-face meeting to discuss your requirements in more detail. We then seek to match your requirements to an appropriate student-consultant’s skillset. That individual will then contact you to arrange a more detailed discussion in which you will agree the timescales and other parameters relevant to your project. Upon completion of the project, you will receive a formal written report with our findings. All reports all reviewed by the Consultant lead, Dr Tom Vine.

A pro bono service

Our service operates on a pro bono basis. Upon completion of your project, clients are welcome to make a small donation to the University should they wish.
