So Christmas might look a little bit different this year to usual but that doesn’t mean that we can’t stay safe and have fun at the same time! Here are some ideas to celebrate Christmas this year in a socially distanced manner.
- Virtual Secret Santa
This idea I am taking part in myself! Every year myself and some of my course mates take part in secret santa however as our lectures are online this year we are going to mail one another our presents and open them virtually instead! This is a super easy adaptation to a usual festive activity which can help us get through this unusual festive period.
- Festive walk
Getting exercise is always a good idea but how about walking around your neighbourhood and looking out for any Christmas lights or decorations that are on display?! You can meet a friend from a distance and this is a great way to stay healthy and enjoy the magic of the Christmas period.
- Christmas movie marathon
Who doesn’t love a cheesy Christmas film?! This is a great activity to enjoy indoors and you can watch with a friend via video chat or discuss it with them after you have watched it! Watching a load of Christmas films is a great way to spend a cosy and relaxed afternoon.
- ‘Bubble’ games night
Board games are fun all year round but they are especially great with family and friends at Christmas. This year take advantage of getting the people in your ‘bubble’ together and have a games night! It is a fun way to destress and take a break from studying!
How are you planning on spending Christmas this year? Let us know in the comments below! We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year.
