snowday

With talk of snow just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about those days in and even having the kids home from school. There’s all sorts of things you can do on a snow day (and even ones that mean you don’t actually have to go outside). I picked out some of my favourites for you to try out.

Get out in the snow

It’s the obvious one, but going out and having a snowball fight with your flatmates, kids or friends is one of the best ways to make use of the snow. Ipswich has loads of parks that you can go to and build a snowman, make snow angels, or just take a walk (think of those Instagram photos!). Make your snowmen even more interesting by mixing food colouring with a bit of water and decorating the snowman.

Indoor fun

If you’re like me and prefer to see the snow from inside, there’s lots of things you can do to enjoy the snow day from the warmth of your house. Keep the kids from getting bored by building a fort, making a treasure hunt, or find some crafts. There’s so much that you can do with things lying around the house.

Time to relax

With the cold outside, it might be time to take some time for yourself and relax for a bit. Do your nails, read a book, curl up on the sofa and watch your favourite movie. This time of year can be a bit miserable, so having some friends over for a relaxing day while the snow falls can help you all combat those winter blues.

Make a mess in the kitchen

If you’re looking for another way to entertain the kids, do something with your friends, or even on your own, bake some cookies or make some fun snowmen marshmallows. Pick a theme or just go crazy with the icing, and think about cleaning up later!
