Professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs) is the term used for a group of different bodies that recognise, approve or accredit courses. Some PSRBs have a statutory or regulatory responsibility to set minimum standards of entry into a particular profession.
The University of Suffolk has relationships with a range of PSRBs, as summarised in our PSRB register. This register is maintained by the Validation and Exams team and is reviewed annually at Departmental Academic Committees, Quality Committee and Senate.
Working with statutory or regulatory bodies is one way in which we can assure the quality of our courses, with the Departmental Academic Committees being responsible for ensuring that the requirements of PSRBs are met. Course teams are supported during PSRB accreditation and validation visits by the Validation and Exams team and the Quality Assurance and Enhancement team. Copies of PSRB reports are reviewed by the Faculty Boards, Quality Committee and Senate.
