Summer is getting closer; I only have a week left until I’m finished! Although we haven’t got the weather we had last year, I’m still planning to use my summer to the full. I’m moving back to Brighton for the summer and there’s a lot of things that will be going on in the Ali household over the next few months.

Not one, but two weddings

It’s less than 2 weeks until my sister’s wedding, so my summer is kicking off with a celebration. But she’s being very unique with two wedding receptions, one in England and one in Germany. Ours and her fiancé’s families and friends are spread out between the two countries, so it’s an excuse to party twice within a week!

Luckily, between all the travelling and wedding chaos, we’re able to spend a couple of days on holiday in Frankfurt.

Travelling

I’ve got some holidays booked and some more planned, which I’m overly excited for. If you read my Summer Plans blog last year, you would have seen I went away quite a bit to Dublin and Vienna. This year, my little sister is finishing her GCSEs, so she and I will be taking a week's break to Croatia in June. I can’t wait for a week on the beach!

Just before I go back to uni, I’ll take a trip with my friend to Amsterdam and hopefully spend a couple of days with my parents in Switzerland. I’ve been invited by some friends to Wales, and my oldest sister and friend want me to visit them in Germany. I really hope I can do everything, so it will be interesting to see how much I’ll be able to do.

Working

Between all the travelling, I’ve been offered a job as an Activity Leader in a language school. I’ll be able to take students on trips to London on the weekend and help them learn English with team sports and days out. I’m a bit nervous about starting, but also really excited to get to know new people and learn about different countries and cultures.

Catching up with friends and family

Lots of my friends will be back from university as well, so I can’t wait to catch up with them and see how they’re all doing. I’ll also be looking forward to seeing my grandparents again and spending some quality time with my family.
